Gildi Pension Fund Plans 42% of Assets in Foreign Currencies in 2025

Foreign Investment Horizon Expands

Gildi has set a target in its investment policy to increase its foreign investments in future years, with emphasis on asset diversity in foreign asset groups. This will mean that the consolidation risk within the Fund’s portfolio will be mitigated. For the mutual pension division, the goal is to increase assets in foreign currencies to 42% in 2025. For the private pension divisions, the target for foreign assets is slightly lower: 28% for Future Vision 1, 18% for Future Vision 2, and 0% for Future Vision 3. This strategic move aims to diversify the asset portfolio beyond the Icelandic economy. (Source: Ársreikningur Gildis lífeyrissjóðs 2024, page 6)
