Ashok Gupta appointed Chair of Mercer’s UK Board

Mercer announced today the appointment of Ashok Gupta as Chair of its UK Board. Selected for his extensive Board and executive experience in the financial services industry, across asset management, wealth management and the pensions segments, Mr. Gupta will also chair the Risk Committee and the Nominations Committee.

An entrepreneur with over 40 years of experience in the UK insurance and financial services industry, Mr. Gupta has held a number of senior executive, advisor and actuarial positions during his career. He is currently a non-executive director (NED) at Sun Life Financial Inc., JP Morgan European Smaller Companies Investment Trust Plc, Ethical Journalism Network and Chair (and a Founder) of eValue, an industry-leading financial services digital advice tools. Mr. Gupta was formerly Chair of AA Insurance Services, Chair of Skandia UK, a founding Director of the Phoenix Group, a NED of the Pensions Regulator and of SJP. A fellow of the Faculty of Actuaries since 1981, Mr. Gupta was also a member of the Financial Reporting Council (FRC) Codes and Standards Committee and Actuarial Council.
