CBRE today announced that Marco Hekman has been promoted to Chairman, Advisory Services, Continental Europe and UK & Ireland.
Hekman, CBRE’s Continental Europe leader since 2016, has guided the company to strong growth across the region. This growth has been generated by an expansion of the client base, recruitment of top professionals and in-fill acquisitions that have augmented the company’s talent base.
With this promotion, the leader of CBRE’s UK & Ireland business, a position currently held by Ciaran Bird, will report to Hekman. Earlier this year, CBRE announced that Bird was stepping down and his successor, when named, will report to Hekman.
A specialist in real estate capital markets, Hekman previously served as CBRE’s Chairman of EMEA Capital Markets, where he established and expanded a network of trusted client relationships across the region and in North America.
Hekman joined CBRE in 1988 and was appointed Managing Director of the Netherlands in 2000.
