Mercer expands investment team with three senior appointments

London, 14 December 2021 – Mercer has announced three senior hires to boost its investment teams. Adam Lane and Jemma Beattie will join the investment advisory team to meet growing demand from clients that seek to refine their de-risking journey and investment strategies. Alexa Shanks will join as Head of Intermediary Relations, a newly created role, with responsibility for working with the third party evaluators (TPEs) that recommend and evaluate fiduciary managers. All three new hires join as Principals and will report to Dan Melley, Head of UK Investments at Mercer.

With over 15 years’ experience in cash flow driven investment strategies as well as local authority experience, Mr Lane joins from PWC where he led the investment practice. Highly regarded in the investment space Mr Lane is well-known for innovating investment solutions for a range of asset owners. Ms Beattie joins from Hymans Robertson where she was an investment consultant and qualified actuary. She has almost 15 years’ experience with strong journey planning, LDI and risk transfer experience. Ms Shanks joins from Invesco where she was a Consultant Relations Director and before that she served as Institutional Client Director at Insight Investment. Ms Shanks will be responsible for driving AUM growth through the TPE channel.
