USS announces new Trustee Board appointment

Marian Elliott will join USSL’s Trustee Board as an independent non-executive director on 1 September 2021.

Marian brings 20 years’ experience in advising trustees and corporate clients, in both the public and private sectors. She has particular expertise in developing actuarial and investment strategies, risk management and sustainability.

Currently Global Head of Pensions at GFG Alliance, Marian was previously a Managing Director at Redington and prior to that led Deloitte’s Trustee Advisory practice in London. She was awarded the title of Professional Pensions’ Advisor of the Year in 2019.

Marian is a Fellow of the Institute & Faculty of Actuaries and has served two terms on their governing Council, as well as sitting on their Management Board. She is a current member of the Pensions Board and works with the Sustainability Board’s education team. As part of her work on the Pensions Board, she has been involved with pensions policy development and implementation, including how to incorporate the issues associated with open and multi-employer schemes within the regulatory framework.
