BNP Paribas Asset Management reinforces its Marketing and Global Product Strategy leadership teams

BNP Paribas Asset Management (‘BNPPAM’) today announced the appointment of Pieter Oyens as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) and Guillaume Wehry as Co-Head of Global Product Strategy.

Since July, Pieter Oyens reports to Steven Billiet, Head of Global Client Group, and will lead the marketing organisation to ensure further alignment with the priorities of the Products, Investments and Sales teams globally, regionally, and locally to best meet the client’s needs. Steven Billiet, Head of Global Client Group explains: “Through his extensive experience, Pieter has developed a deep understanding of BNPP AM products range and its strategic opportunities. I am confident that Pieter will be able to leverage his knowledge to deliver and execute the comprehensive marketing strategy we need to support our business development going forward. His experience in Asia will be very useful in supporting our ambitions in this key region for our firm”.

Pieter has over 20 years of asset management and investment banking experience with different regional and global executive roles in sales, product development and derivatives. Previously, he was Co-Head of Global Product Strategy at BNP Paribas Asset Management. Prior to moving to Paris, Pieter was Head of Asia Pacific Investment Specialists based in Hong Kong and member of the regional Executive Committee. Pieter has extensive experience in Asia having spent 14 years in Hong Kong working for amongst others BNP Paribas and ABN AMRO Bank.

He holds a master’s degree in law from the University of Leiden in the Netherlands and is a CFA charter holder.

In addition to this, Guillaume Wehry will lead the product strategy team alongside François Roux. As Co-Head of Global Product Strategy, Guillaume will report to Pierre Moulin, Global Head of Products and Strategic Marketing. Pierre Moulin, Global Head of Products and Strategic Marketing adds: “I am confident that Guillaume will help BNP Paribas Asset Management in the development of our product priorities to achieve both our current and subsequent strategic plans. He is perfectly placed to pace the governance, optimization and development of our strategic and innovative product offering, in line with our strategic pillars on Private Assets, ETFs, Thematics, and the new rates environment. He will also help to reach our ambitious objectives in sustainability, which is core to the corporate philosophy of BNPP AM”.

Guillaume brings more than 25 years of experience in the asset management industry, of which more than 10 years based in Asia. He has held various positions of responsibility within BNP Paribas, SGAM and Amundi in Europe and Asia.

In 2018, he joined BNP Paribas Asset Management as Chief Marketing Officer Asia Pacific in Hong Kong, where he supported the business efforts in the region, specifically on the Wholesale Distribution side.

Guillaume holds a master’s degree in management from Université Paris IX Dauphine.
