After his training, Ivan Nikolov will take over the management of the convertible bonds team at Fisch Asset Management in Zurich.
Ivan Nikolov joined Fisch Asset Management as Co-Head Convertible Bonds on January 1, 2024. As of April 1, 2024, Fisch Asset Management will appoint Nikolov as head of the convertible bond team with five portfolio managers. The team manages five strategies across the entire convertible bond and risk spectrum with a volume of around CHF 2 billion.
Nikolov has had a very successful career as a portfolio manager at NN Investment Partners in London. There he was responsible for convertible bond portfolios with a volume under management of more than USD 2 billion. Previously, he worked as a convertible bond portfolio manager at Aberdeen Asset Management for four years. Nikolov graduated from Oxford University with an MA and BA in Economics and Management.
“I am very pleased about the trust placed in me and look forward to further developing the convertible bonds asset class with my team. “This is a special moment for me on the 30th anniversary of the company’s history, which has been linked to the convertible bond asset class since its founding,” says Ivan Nikolov. The previous Co-Head Convertible Bonds, Thomas Fischli Rutz, continues to actively support the team and remains a resource.
New member of the Portfolio Management Board
CEO Dr. Torsten von Bartenwerffer says: “With his years of experience and broad expertise, Ivan Nikolov is predestined to lead the convertible team and bring in new ideas. Together we will tackle the upcoming tasks in this area. My thanks also go to Thomas Fischli Rutz for his commitment as co-head. He will now concentrate more on his role as Head Emerging Markets.” At the same time, Nikolov will become a new member of the Portfolio Management Board. This already includes Torsten von Bartenwerffer, Thomas Fischli Rutz and Oliver Reinhard.
