Change in the management of the pensions and management of the sgpk

Benedikt Häfliger, head of the pensions department and member of the management board at sgpk, has decided to take on a new professional challenge. He will leave sgpk at the end of July 2023. The succession process has been initiated.

Benedikt Häfliger was the managing director of sgpk between 2013 and 2019. Under his leadership, the insurance fund for state employees merged with the cantonal teacher insurance fund, which resulted in the independence of today’s sgpk on January 1, 2014. At the same time, the lawyer and economist played a key role in shaping the system change of the sgpk from a defined benefit to a defined contribution plan with all the associated legal and implementation issues. At the end of November 2019, he handed over management to Stefan Schäfer and has since then been Head of Pensions and a member of the Executive Board.

After a total of ten years working for sgpk, Benedikt Häfliger decided to take on a new professional challenge. He will leave the pension fund on July 31, 2023.

The board of trustees and management thank Benedikt Häfliger for his many years of great and prudent commitment, which has shaped the development of the sgpk since its inception. They wish him all the best for his professional and private future.

The recruitment of Benedikt Häfliger’s successor has been initiated. The sgpk will inform you about the developments in this regard in due course. For the transition phase, we have taken everything necessary to ensure that insured persons, employers and other business partners can receive the usual quality of care and advice even under these changed circumstances.
