The director, Gilles André leaves the PKSF

Gilles André will step down as director of the PKSF by the end of 2024. During his six years in office, he has successfully implemented the reform of the PKSF pension plan and its sustainable investment charter, the reform of the institution’s governance and the modernisation of its communications.

Gilles André will step down as director of the Pension Fund of the State of Fribourg (PKSF) by the end of 2024. The certified auditor and approved audit expert, who took office on January 1, 2019, will have headed the PKSF for six years.

Implementation of the pension plan

Gilles André, 54, was hired to implement the reform of the PKSF pension plan, approved at cantonal level by 67% of voters in December 2020. As a reminder, this change meant a switch from a defined benefit to a defined contribution system and resulted in significant follow-up operating costs.

Implementation of the Sustainable Investment Charter

Gilles André then devoted himself to the concrete implementation of the PKSF Sustainable Investment Charter. This implementation is now well advanced, as the fund has begun the energy renovation of its real estate portfolio and has completed the transition of all its shares and bonds to a portfolio that complies with its charter by December 31, 2023. Under Gilles André’s leadership, the PKSF published its first sustainability report in 2024. A well

-positioned fund

The PKSF thanks Gilles André for his services. In addition to reforming the pension plan and implementing the Sustainable Investment Charter, the Director has also worked on reforming the Fund’s governance and modernizing communication with insured persons, political partners and the general public. Thanks to his commitment, the PKSF is in a good position to meet the many current challenges in the interests of insured employees.

The PKSF will soon advertise the position of Director of the Fund. Gilles André will ensure the transition before taking on a new challenge.
