Dr. Oliver Pfeil becomes CEO of ÖKOWORLD AG

The Supervisory Board of ÖKOWORLD AG has appointed Dr. Oliver Pfeil (50) as CEO of the Hilden-based financial services provider, effective January 1, 2025. The trained banker and doctor of economics most recently led the asset manager EB – Sustainable Investment Management GmbH (EB-SIM) as spokesman for the management and headed portfolio management as Chief Investment Officer. EB-SIM is a subsidiary of the Evangelische Bank in Kassel. Before that, he worked for many years as a portfolio manager at DWS.

“Credible topic leadership in a completely changed market environment for sustainable financial products – that is what ÖKOWORLD stands for. And that is what Dr. Oliver Pfeil stands for with his long experience in sustainable investment and as a stock expert,” explains Dr. Hermann Falk, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of ÖKOWORLD AG. “After the well-founded change process of the last 15 months, Dr. Pfeil will open a new growth chapter in ÖKOWORLD AG’s 50th year together with the proven trio of executives.” As CEO, Dr. Oliver Pfeil will take over the Strategy, Fund Management, Marketing and Press as well as Investor Relations departments. The allocation of the other departments remains unchanged.

“ÖKOWORLD is very well positioned as a credible pioneer of sustainable funds in Germany. In my opinion, a sustainable investment must not only have an excellent financial performance but also always take into account ecology, i.e. climate, species and nature conservation. Together with the board members and the entire workforce, I would like to help make ÖKOWORLD even more successful. I am really looking forward to the exciting challenge,” says Dr. Oliver Pfeil.

Andrea Machost, Katrin Hammerich and Torsten Müller have already set many course for the future of the Hilden-based financial services provider in recent months. A key focus here was on expanding relationships with customers, shareholders, partners and employees. Furthermore, sales were restructured and expanded, new target groups were addressed, an engagement strategy including proxy voting and engagement reports were introduced and portfolio management in Luxembourg was strengthened. “We have come a big step closer to our goal of making ÖKOWORLD more modern and opening it up to younger people in the last 15 months,” say Andrea Machost, Katrin Hammerich and Torsten Müller. “We are looking forward to driving this change process forward together with Dr. Oliver Pfeil from January.”

The Hilden-based ÖKOWORLD will celebrate its 50th birthday next year. The financial services provider is considered a pioneer in the field of sustainable investments. The ÖKOWORLD funds and insurance products invest globally in companies whose products or services have a positive ethical, social and ecological impact on the environment or society and thus contribute to a future worth living. The total volume of all investment funds designed by ÖKOWORLD is currently around 3 billion euros. ÖKOWORLD funds regularly receive awards. Just recently, the ÖKOWORLD ÖKOVISION CLASSIC received the top rating from Stiftung Warentest.
