Georg von Hinüber becomes a new board member at the EZVK

The supervisory board of the Evangelical supplementary pension fund (EZVK) has appointed Mr. Georg von Hinüber as a member of the board. Von Hinüber will take on his new role in Darmstadt on October 1, 2022 and will be responsible for the insurance and stakeholders department.

He replaces Hans-Rudolf von Campenhausen, who has headed the department as interim director since June and will in future concentrate on his board duties at the additional church pension fund in Rhineland-Westphalia (KZVK) and the joint pension fund for pastors and church officials (VKPB) in Dortmund.

Georg von Hinüber is a lawyer and has been with KZVK and VKPB in Dortmund since 2015, most recently as responsible legal counsel, head of the legal department and deputy for a board member. Previously, he was a consultant at AON Hewitt and legal advisor to the Association for Municipal and Church Pensions (AKA). He studied law in Munich and Berlin and holds a Masters in Pension Management from Kaiserslautern University of Applied Sciences.

The Chairman of the EZVK Supervisory Board, Heinz Thomas Striegler, explains the appointment: “The Supervisory Board has gained an excellent manager in Mr. von Hinüber. We are pleased to have an experienced specialist with many years of experience and very good specialist knowledge of supplementary church pension schemes and company pension schemes.”

The chairman of the board, Dr. Volker Heinke sums it up: “I am very much looking forward to working with Mr. von Hinüber in the future and would like to thank my colleague Hans-Rudolf von Campenhausen very much for his energetic and extremely committed support.”

Von Hinüber is looking forward to the new challenge: “The EZVK is one of the most important supplementary pension funds in Germany with an extensive business area and an attractive business model for the evangelical church and social services. Their actions are shaped by offering their customers – those involved and the insured – a valuable and efficient company pension scheme. The exciting task of helping to shape the business activities of the EZVK and successfully developing it further for its customers is a great privilege and I am very happy to accept it.”
