Prof. Dr. med. Peter Czeschinski has been elected chairman of the administrative committee of the Ärzteversorgung Westfalen-Lippe (ÄVWL) with immediate effect. Czeschinski has been a member of the administrative committee since 2010. Before that, he was a member of the supervisory committee of the ÄVWL for 10 years. During his professional career, Czeschinski most recently headed the occupational health and safety service at the University Hospital Münster and continues to teach in this field at the medical faculty.
The previous chairman, Prof. Dr. med. Ingo Flenker, resigned from his position at the meeting of the Administrative Committee on June 26, 2024 for family reasons, as announced long ago. Flenker had served as deputy chairman of the Administrative Committee since 2005, and took over the chairmanship in 2015.
“I am happy and grateful that the change at the top of the Administrative Committee is taking place in such a structured manner. My thanks go to Ingo Flenker, whose commitment has kept the medical care system in calm waters even in the most difficult of times, and I am sure that Peter Czeschinski will continue on this successful course,” said Dr. Hans-Albert Gehle, President of the Westphalia-Lippe Medical Association. Flenker will remain a full member of the Administrative Committee until further notice. Rolf Granseyer will remain Deputy Chairman of the Administrative Committee.
