AP7, together with Danish AkademikerPension, British Church of England and Norwegian Storebrand, had successful dialogues with Toyota before their meeting. Toyota has agreed to act more clearly in line with the Paris Agreement and review its climate lobbying.
“AP7 congratulates Toyota on its commitment to review and transparently report on its climate lobbying. Toyota has been very constructive in the dialogue with the investor group, which has been much appreciated together with the willingness to cooperate that the company has shown. The car industry is central to achieving the goals of the Paris Agreement and must take its foot off the brakes. We expect that more car manufacturers will follow Toyota and recognize the benefits of robust management of their climate lobbying, ”says Charlotta Dawidowski Sydstrand, sustainability strategist at AP7.
