Funds managed in line with the Paris Agreement’s climate goals are included in Folksam’s fund range

Folksam publishes on its website:

Folksam Fondförsäkring now offers its customers the opportunity to invest in two equity funds, M&G Global Sustain Paris Aligned Fund and M&G Pan European Sustain Paris Aligned Fund, which are managed in line with the Paris Agreement’s emissions targets. The funds are managed by M&G Investments and have a global and European orientation. The funds are classified as Article 9 according to the SFDR, which means that they have sustainable investments as a goal.

Both funds have delivered a return that is better than other comparable funds in both three and five year terms. The management fee for each fund is 1.50 percent.

– Sustainability is something that is a high priority throughout Folksam and I am happy that Folksam Fondförsäkring can now offer our customers two new funds that invest in line with the Paris Agreement’s emissions targets. The two new funds from M&G Investment complement an already well-thought-out selection of funds and give our customers even better opportunities for sustainable savings that suit them, says Björn Frimodig, CEO of Folksam Fondförsäkring.

Folksam Fondförsäkring does not have its own funds, but instead offers its customers the opportunity to choose from a range of external funds that are carefully selected based on a number of different criteria. All funds that Folksam Fondförsäkring offers are one hundred percent sustainable based on Folksam Liv’s own criteria.

– We at M&G are very happy that our two funds, M&G Global Sustain Paris Aligned Fund and M&G Pan European Sustain Paris Aligned Fund, are now available at Folksam Fondförsäkring. Climate change is the biggest challenge of our time, and the fact that Folksam Fondförsäkring now offers our funds contributes to the absolutely necessary green transition while giving customers good opportunities for a good return, says John William Olsen, fund manager at M&G Investments.

Folksamgruppen has for a long time worked with responsible asset management and was, for example, one of the founders of the Net-Zero Asset Owner Alliance in 2019. The alliance currently brings together a total of 86 institutional owners, who together manage over SEK 114,000 billion with the common goal of the investment portfolios must reach net zero emissions of greenhouse gases by 2050 at the latest.
