Henrik Gade Jepsen new head of asset management at Alecta

7 November 2022

Henrik Gade Jepsen will be the new head of Alecta’s asset management. Previously, he worked at Danske Bank A/S as head of asset management and 17 years at Denmark’s largest pension fund ATP, of which five years as head of asset management. He most recently came from a role as senior advisor at QBlue Balanced. Henrik Gade Jepsen will start at Alecta on 1 December 2022.

– I am very happy that Henrik is starting as the new head of Alecta’s asset management. His experience as a leader and deep knowledge in asset management will be very valuable for Alecta and for the execution of our mission, says Magnus Billing, CEO of Alecta.

Alecta is an active administrator with a clear mission to deliver as much value as possible to corporate and private customers within collectively agreed occupational pensions at the lowest possible cost. Alecta invests in carefully selected shares, interest-bearing securities and real assets in Europe and the USA. On 30 September 2022, the managed capital amounted to SEK 1,120 billion, which makes Alecta one of Europe’s largest pension managers.

Alecta’s model for sustainable investments is based on active ownership management and deep knowledge of each holding.

– Alecta’s asset management model is exciting and in many ways unique. For me, it is attractive to work together with a fairly small group of colleagues and to be able to get close to the various investments. At the same time, the role of head of asset management requires a great understanding of the overall development of both financial markets and society in Sweden and globally. I look forward to continuing to work together with all the talented employees at Alecta to create security during and after working life for our customers, says Henrik Gade Jepsen.

Henrik Gade Jepsen was born in 1963 in Esbjerg, Denmark and has a degree in economics from Aarhus University. In addition to Danske Bank and ATP, he has also worked at, among others, the IMF and Danmarks Nationalbank.
