NBIM – Revised strategy for 2021–2022

8 April 2021

The revised strategy builds on the strategy for 2020–2022 and emphasizes high performance, responsible investment and transparency as key priorities for the fund going forward.

The strategy has been revised by the Executive Board in close dialogue with Norges Bank Investment Management, following a change in the management group of the fund.

– The revised strategy builds on the previous strategy plan. High performance, responsible investment and transparency continue to summarise our strategy. However, the revised strategy focuses on optimising processes, on technology and on developing our employees, says CEO Nicolai Tangen at Norges Bank Investment Management.

The revised strategy is concise, clear and actionable, linking day-to-day tasks to the strategic ambitions. It stems partly from suggestions from the organisation on how to improve individual, organisational and fund performance.

Norges Bank is responsible for the operational management of the fund. The management assignment is defined in the mandate set by the Ministry of Finance. The strategy is an operationalisation of the task assigned to us.
