Peter Possing Andersen takes over as the new investment director at Lægernes Pension & Bank with effect from 1 February 2025. As the new investment director, he will be in charge of the management of a total pension asset of just over DKK 120 billion for approximately 51,000 doctors who are members of the pension fund. Peter Possing Andersen has a master’s degree in political science. from the University of Copenhagen and has a management degree from the Norwegian Armed Forces as well as more than 20 years of experience in investment, strategy, analysis and management. He most recently came from a position as investment manager at Tryg Invest and previously worked as a senior strategist at Danske Markets and chief strategist at Lægernes Pension & Bank.
Solid and stable additional returns
Lægernes Pension & Bank has over the past 20 years ensured the pension fund’s medical members an annual extra return of approximately 1 per cent. The pension fund has just adjusted its investment strategy and chosen to stop active management of listed shares and in this connection sharpened its focus on the active management of other investments such as unlisted assets, credit bonds, infrastructure and properties. Peter Possing Andersen replaces investment director Søren Nielsen, who for the past several years has been at the head of the investment department at Lægernes Pension & Bank. Søren Nielsen has most recently helped prepare for members of Lægernes Pension to have more self-determination over their pension scheme from 2025, including the opportunity to choose market interest rates and adjust their investment risk.
