New powerful team members for asset management LV

Hjalti Þór Skaftason and Benedikt Guðmundsson have been hired to manage the assets of the Merchants’ Pension Fund.

Hjalti has been hired as an expert in the fund’s asset management. He comes from Capital Four in Copenhagen, where he has worked since 2019 as an analyst on the European and American high-yield bond markets. Previously, Hjalti worked at Kvika Bank in the years 2014-2019, first in risk management and then in corporate consulting.

Hjalti has a B.Sc. degree in business administration from HR and M.Sc. in financial economics from HÍ. He has also completed a degree in securities trading and is a CFA holder.

Benedikt has been hired as an analyst in the fund’s asset management. He holds a B.Sc. degree in business administration from the University of Iceland and M.Sc. degree in Finance from the University of Edinburgh. Benedikt comes from KPMG where he worked as a financial and operational consultant.

LV’s asset management division currently employs 8 employees with more than 75 years of combined experience in the financial markets. The fund’s portfolios amount to about 1,200 billion ISK and are owned by about 180 thousand fund members.
