PenSam: New investment in alternative energy

PenSam publishes on its website:

Together with PKA and a number of other investors, PenSam has made another investment in alternative energy. In this case, it is an investment in the French company Valorem, which since 1994 has developed a large number of energy projects within primarily onshore wind.

Valorem, which today has approx. 470 employees, are among the largest developers of renewable energy projects in France. The company is active in the development, construction and operation of energy projects and is in a good position to take advantage of the expected growth in the French market.

PenSam’s investment thus partly entails ownership of already built wind farms, etc., but also access to a number of potential projects which are expected to be implemented over the coming years.

Valorem focuses primarily on the French market, which is considered to be attractive for investments in renewable energy projects. The market is subject to significant regulatory and public support, including 20-year subsidy schemes with partial inflation protection.

“With this investment, we expect to create a long-term attractive return for our members, for which we are set up in the world. At the same time, we contribute to the green transition and thus the ambitious goals that PenSam has set in this area,” says Torsten Fels, CEO of PenSam.

The investment is made through the manager AIP, which specializes in investments related to the sustainable transition.
