Aviva Investors makes further hire to European Real Estate team

29 September 2022

Aviva Investors, the global asset management business of Aviva plc (‘Aviva’), has announced a further hire to its European real estate team, appointing Edmond de Fels as Investment Manager.

Edmond is the fourth significant addition to Aviva Investors’ growing European Real Estate team this year, as the business continues to grow its real estate strategy across the continent, having completed approximately €700 million of deals in 2022 so far. Based in Paris, he will manage real estate investments in the French market.

He joins Aviva Investors from Ivanhoé Cambridge where he held various positions, most recently as Director of Investments. He graduated from the University of Paris (La Sorbonne) with MSc in Banking and Finance and has approximately eight years’ experience in real estate investing.

Edmond’s appointment follows Lise Marbach and Theophile Perrin who joined the business in July, as well as James Wythe who was brought in as Investment Manager in January. All four hires report to George Fraser-Harding, Head of European Funds, Real Estate, at Aviva Investors.

George Fraser-Harding, Head of European Funds, Real Estate, at Aviva Investors, commented:
“We are very pleased to welcome Edmond to our growing pan-European real estate team, which has now closed on roughly €700 million worth of deals in 2022 alone. Edmond comes with a great deal of experience in European real estate markets, having spent time investing across numerous strategies. He will primarily oversee our activity in the French market, which we expect will be one of our main geographical focuses over the coming few years as we look to continue building out our portfolio and deliver long-term returns for our clients.”
