LGPS – South Yorkshire Pension Fund publishes on its website:
South Yorkshire Pensions Authority (SYPA) has received a strong endorsement of its governance arrangements in an independent review carried out by Aon, a specialist pensions governance consultant, and which will be considered by the Authority’s Local Pension Board at its meeting on 8th August.
SYPA is the unique public body responsible for the running of the £11.1bn South Yorkshire Pension Fund which is one of the 86 funds within the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) in England and Wales and has and has around 170,000 members working for around 600 different organisations across the County.
The report which can be accessed here opens in new window considers all aspects of the Authority’s governance arrangements from whether the organisation has the right framework for planning its activities, to whether meetings operate effectively. The review was run in parallel with an assessment of the Authority’s level of compliance with the Pensions Regulators new General Code of Practice which sets standards for how pension schemes should be run.
