Janus Henderson continues to strengthen Portfolio Construction and Strategy Team

Janus Henderson Investors is today announcing the appointment of Matt Bullock who joins as Head of EMEA Portfolio and Construction Strategy. Matt, who assumed the role on 31 January 2022, will be based in London and will report to Adam Hetts, Global Head of the Portfolio Construction Strategy (PCS) team.

This newly created role is transformative for the firm’s global PCS business; Matt will build out the institutional client engagement model across EMEA and serve as the leader for the London-based team of portfolio strategists.

Matt brings over 20 years of financial services industry experience to the role having joined from Wellington Management where he was Investment Director, Multi-Strategy Solutions and Thematics. Prior to that he held various leadership roles with a focus on EMEA markets, including senior positions at both BlackRock and the Pendal Group (formerly BT Investment Management).

In addition to Matt’s hire, the firm is announcing it has appointed Peter Harrington-Howes as Senior Portfolio Strategist in the U.S. Peter has more than 16 years’ experience in the financial services industry and most recently held the position of Senior Portfolio Advisor at Natixis, where he worked with intermediary and institutional clients across U.S., Latin American and U.S. offshore markets.

The Janus Henderson PCS team delivers customised portfolio analyses and insights for clients, providing them with data-driven diagnostic reports and proprietary thought-leadership content about asset allocation and macro market conditions. The complementary service helps clients build more resilient portfolios through a better understanding of their unique performance drivers and the PCS team’s investment perspective.

Peter and Matt’s appointments bring the headcount of the PCS team to 15 people covering U.S., U.S. offshore, Latin America and EMEA and follows the recent hire of Mario Aguilar as Senior Portfolio
