Liz Mckenzie new Shareholder Non-Executive Director, Brunel Pension Partnership

Brunel Pension Partnership publishes on its website:

I am delighted to welcome Liz Mckenzie as our new Shareholder Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Remuneration Committee.

As the shareholder representative on the board, Liz takes up a crucial role at Brunel. It is an important moment, as we complete our transitions and the launch of our funds, and as our reputation for investment expertise and Responsible Investment leadership continues to grow across the industry in the year of COP 26.

Liz’s appointment reflects her background in both financial services and business, and her time as a Board member at other financial services companies. She was very pleased to accept the role.

“I’m looking forward to working with people in Brunel and our partner funds to play my part in continually building those relationships,” said Liz. “Sometimes there will be tough subjects to cover, other times it will be celebrating our partnership’s success, sometimes reflecting on where we’ve come from to help understand where to go to next. I look forward to many great conversations!”

Benefit of experience

Liz began her career as a production engineer before spending 19 years at Toyota, in roles all around the business, including production control, logistics, cost management, productivity and supply chain management.

Liz then transferred to financial services, spending seven years at Wesleyan Assurance Society, a nationwide mutual life insurer, based in Birmingham. She was appointed as Chief Operating Officer and as the main board member responsible for Financial Advice, Insurance, Practice Plan and Transformation/IT.

In addition to her role at Brunel, Liz is Non-Executive Director and Remuneration Committee Chair at the Monmouthshire Building Society, and Vice Chair at the West Midlands Growth Company.

Liz is an angel investor who supports entrepreneurs in building their businesses. As a result, Liz is also Chair of IoT start-up Tended, recently recognised by Tech Nation as one of the UK’s most innovative and exciting early-stage tech start-ups.
