Varma was ranked third in the international Global Pension Transparency Benchmark, which assesses the transparency of responsible investment. The benchmark evaluates, among other things, the transparency of investment costs, governance, and responsible investment. Varma’s score improved from 88 last year to 93 this year.
– “We are thrilled to receive this recognition. This achievement is the result of the determined work we have done to integrate responsible investment into our investing operations. We are continuously developing our responsible investment reporting,” says Hanna Kaskela, Varma’s Senior Vice-President, Sustainability and Communications.
For the third time, 75 pension funds from 15 different countries were included in the comparison. The benchmark examined the transparency of pension funds’ investments from four perspectives: expenses, governance, investment performance and responsible investing.
