Ancala, the leading independent infrastructure manager, has expanded its asset management through the appointment of Frederick Pierru as a Director. Frederick will help apply the firm’s proactive value creation strategy to its growing portfolio of critical infrastructure businesses.
Frederick has more than 25 years’ experience working in the infrastructure and energy sectors. He has developed deep industry experience throughout his career working within operational and supply chain management positions, consulting and most recently as CEO of Marverde Infraestructura, a KKR-backed company which specialised in the sale and leaseback of energy infrastructure assets.
Frederick joins Ancala following a seven-year period as CEO of Marverde Infraestructura, where he supervised all aspects of the business including set-up, project finance, legal, tax and accounting management and compliance.
Before Marverde Infraestructura, Frederick worked for Boston Consulting Group for six years where he was focused on M&A and business strategy within infrastructure, energy and industrial sectors.
At Ancala, Frederick will work closely with portfolio company management teams to deliver business plans and create value. His appointment follows Sebastian Schwengber and Daniel Arce Latorre joining Ancala’s Asset Management team earlier this year as a Director and Analyst respectively.
Ancala has a long track record for enabling growth. To date, it has provided more than 40% of the initial investment capital in follow-on funding to enable its portfolio firms to grow organically and through acquisition. On average, its portfolio firms have grown revenues by more than 65% since first investment.
